
Shares of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (MOFSL) plunged nearly 10% on Friday to hit an intraday low of ₹679.20 after the company posted a net loss in its Q4 FY25 results. The stock was trading at ₹693.50 on the NSE, down 8.27% or ₹62.50 from the previous close of ₹756.
Motilal Oswal reported a consolidated net loss of ₹63.19 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, as against a net profit of ₹724.60 crore in Q4 FY24. The sharp reversal was largely due to a steep fall in reported fair value changes and overall revenue decline.
Total revenue from operations for the quarter stood at ₹1,190.26 crore, down 45% from ₹2,153.84 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Fee and commission income, the company’s key revenue segment, declined to ₹1,023.36 crore from ₹1,149.64 crore YoY.
The company also recorded a net loss of ₹42.89 crore on fair value changes in Q4 FY25, as opposed to a gain of ₹423.58 crore in Q4 FY24 — a swing of nearly ₹466 crore, severely impacting the quarterly results.
Motilal’s market cap stood at ₹41,532 crore as of Friday’s session with a P/E ratio of 12.81 and a dividend yield of 0.72%.
