What to do after an earthquake:

  • Expect aftershocks: These may occur hours or even days after the main quake and can cause additional damage.

  • Avoid open flames: Earthquakes can rupture gas lines, increasing the risk of fire. Do not use lighters or matches in damaged buildings.

  • Stay away from the beach: Earthquakes can trigger tsunamis or cause unexpected coastal flooding.

  • Drive cautiously: Structural damage and power outages may lead to traffic disruptions and hazardous road conditions.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay alert and follow official instructions. Disaster management teams are monitoring the situation closely.
