Maruti Suzuki India sees 3.1% YoY growth in March 2025

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a solid 3.1% year-on-year (YoY) growth in total sales for March 2025. The company sold a total of 192,984 units in March, including domestic sales, exports, and sales to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Maruti Suzuki’s March 2025 sales figures reveal significant contributions across multiple segments:

  • Domestic Sales: The company achieved 153,134 units in domestic sales, marking a key performance milestone.

  • Sales to Other OEMs: Maruti Suzuki’s sales to other OEMs amounted to 6,882 units.

  • Exports: The company exported 32,968 units, continuing its global reach and expanding its presence in international markets.

For the full financial year 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki achieved record-breaking total sales of 2,234,266 units. This includes the highest-ever domestic sales of 1,795,259 units and record exports of 332,585 units.

Segment-wise Performance

1. Mini and Compact Segment:

  • Mini Segment: The Alto and S-Presso continue to be popular, with 11,655 units sold in March 2025, slightly down from 11,829 units in March 2024.

  • Compact Segment: Models like the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR maintained their popularity with 66,906 units sold in March 2025, although down from 69,844 units in the same month the previous year.

Together, the Mini and Compact segments made up a significant share of Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales, totaling 78,561 units in March 2025, a small decline compared to 81,673 units in March 2024.

2. Mid-Size Segment:

  • Mid-Size Segment: The Ciaz saw a modest increase, with 676 units sold in March 2025 compared to 590 units in March 2024. This segment remains a key player in Maruti Suzuki’s diverse portfolio.

3. Utility Vehicles (UV):

  • Maruti Suzuki’s UV segment continues to show robust growth. The company sold 61,097 units of models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6 in March 2025. This marks an increase from the 58,436 units sold in March 2024, contributing significantly to overall sales.

4. Vans:

  • The Eeco van continues to perform well, with 10,409 units sold in March 2025, slightly down from 12,019 units in March 2024.

Total Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales

Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 150,743 units in March 2025, a slight decrease from 152,718 units in March 2024. However, the company’s ability to maintain consistency in sales amidst challenging market conditions is notable.

Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Sales

Maruti Suzuki’s Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), the Super Carry, saw 2,391 units sold in March 2025, showing a decrease from 3,612 units sold in March 2024. Nonetheless, the LCV segment contributes to Maruti Suzuki’s overall strategy to expand its product offerings.

Record Exports and Global Reach

In terms of exports, Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest-ever export sales of 32,968 units in March 2025. This is a significant increase from 25,892 units in March 2024, and it reflects the company’s sustained growth in international markets.

For the financial year 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki posted its highest-ever total sales of 2,234,266 units, surpassing its previous year’s total of 2,135,323 units. Domestic sales were equally strong, reaching a record 1,795,259 units, while exports amounted to 332,585 units, an impressive rise from 283,067 units in FY 2023-24.
